ROADWEEDS OF THE UPPER PENINSULA
Chicory (Circhorium intybus) |
Chicory is one of the flowers to look forward to in the summer. The large, plentiful baby-blue blooms brighten the roadsides across the U.P. Although the species is a native of Eurasia, it does not seem to be particularly invasive, as it rarely occurs far from places disturbed by people. It's range goes around the world and pretty much anything that looks like chicory . . . probably is.
