Smooth brome is one of the manybromes of the U.P. and across Michigan.  Brome grasses are commonly cultivated for forage.  Smooth brome is an exotic from Eurasia, but some bromes are native to theU.P.  One species is on Michigan's threatened list.   The plants grow to a height of 2-3 feet.
